Are you having trouble with our website?
If so, it could be for one (or more) of the following common reasons:1. You do not own a computer or do not have a connection to the internet.
Leading ultra-Orthodox Jewish rabbis have banned their followers from using the Internet out of concern that Web links may lead them into the profane. The ban was initiated by leaders of the influential Belz Hasidic sect in October, and in recent weeks has been endorsed by the leader of virtually every ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect. Computers have proved valuable in teaching the Bible and in running businesses. But the Internet, with its proliferation of links to pornography sites, was ruled out of bounds.
2. You are trying to read the text from right to left.
Remember, text on the internet reads exclusively from left to right.
3. You are unfamiliar with the web definition of the word "scroll."
On the web, the term "scrolling" refers only to the clicking of an arrow image to cause the page to appear tomove up and down. It does not entail the unrolling of an actual scroll.
4. You failed to properly atone for your sins on Yom Kippur.
In G-d's eyes you are no longer valued as a human being and have therefore been found to be unworthy of surfing this website, for whatever unfathomable reasons HaShem may have, in His eternal wisdom, devised.
5. You are using your computer during the Sabbath and are unable to turn it on.
One way around this dilemma is to hire a non-Jew, or "Shabbos Goy" to turn the computer on and to operate the mouse until sundown. The clapper may also be used as a viable alternative (see Shabbat must-haves) although operation of the mouse is still expressly forbidden by the Ba'al Shem Tov.
6. Our site has been taken over by an Arab organization.
To save on startup costs we have been forced to share our server with a militant Arab faction. Occasionally, they lay claim to greater than 2/3rds of the space on the server, consequently squeezing out much of our inventory.
